Touring power works best when the battery bank, charging, solar input, inverter and controls are designed as one system.

That is the idea behind the Projecta setup installed in 4X4 Australia's 2026 Toyota HiLux. Every major component is brought together inside one side compartment of the Ironman Raid canopy, where it remains visible and accessible.

The build was installed by Sean Pinder at Pro Charge Performance & Tuning in Bayswater, Victoria. Storage, charging, monitoring and load control are connected through a single Intelli-IQ setup.

An integrated power hub

Two Projecta LB100-HD batteries provide 200Ah of nominal auxiliary capacity. The pair gives the HiLux a central store for the canopy's electrical loads while keeping touring power separate from starter-battery duties.

Alternator, solar and 240V

A Projecta IDC50X 50A DC-DC charger manages charging from the vehicle alternator and the roof-mounted Projecta SPM155-MC4 155W solar panel, with simultaneous alternator and MPPT solar inputs.

For 240V output, a Projecta IP2000 2000W Intelli-Wave pure sine wave inverter sits in the same canopy compartment, ready to power compatible equipment without a separate portable inverter taking up load space.

Intelli-IQ control

The IQD2 2-inch display provides real-time monitoring of solar input, alternator input and total output current, with Bluetooth connectivity for the Intelli-IQ app.

An IQMR4 multi-channel relay and an IQR040 single-channel relay bring selected lighting and other DC loads into the same control environment.

The 4X4 Australia feature also shows system information on the HiLux factory multimedia screen through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
